About Lasha
Kintsurashvili, Iconographer
Lasha Kintsurashvili is a painter and iconographer of Georgian Patriarchate and one of the founders of St. John the Theologian Iconographer’s Brotherhood. In 1985 he finished specialized art school and in 1992 he graduated the faculty of Architecture at the Technical University. In the 1980's, with a few of his fellow painters, he founded the school of icon painting at the Spiritual Academy. He took part in restoration work in the highland region of Georgia-Svaneti, where many Georgian and Byzantine ancient models of art have been preserved. Lasha works simultaneously in archaic and classical style in icon painting. He uses minerals, natural pigments (semi-precious stones, minerals and colors made of the ground).
